Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about planning your wedding in Marrakech with Amélie.
Planning
How far in advance should I contact Amélie Wedding?
We recommend reaching out at least 12–18 months before your desired date for peak season (March–May and October–November). For off-season weddings, 9–12 months is generally sufficient. Last-minute requests are accepted based on availability.
Do you organize weddings for couples who don't live in Morocco?
Yes — that is our specialty. The vast majority of our couples come from France, Europe, North America, and around the world. We handle all on-the-ground logistics — venues, vendors, guest accommodation, and coordination — so you don't need to be present until the day arrives.
How many site visits are required before the wedding?
Most couples plan 1–2 visits to Marrakech: an initial trip to view venues and meet key vendors, and a second visit 2–3 months before the wedding to finalize details. All intermediate communication happens remotely through our online platform.
Do you only plan weddings, or other events too?
We specialize in luxury weddings in Marrakech. We also organize engagement parties, bachelorette and bachelor weekends, and private celebrations in the same exceptional setting.
Budget & Pricing
What is the average budget for a wedding in Marrakech?
A luxury wedding in Marrakech typically ranges from €30,000 to €200,000+, depending on guest count, venue choice, and customization level. Weddings at the most prestigious palaces (Royal Mansour, La Mamounia) naturally sit at the higher end of this range.
How are Amélie Wedding's fees calculated?
Our fees are based on the scope of the project and services requested. We offer fixed packages (day-of coordination only, partial planning, full planning) as well as bespoke arrangements. Contact us via the brief form to receive a personalized proposal.
Should I budget for unexpected expenses?
We always recommend budgeting a 10–15% contingency on top of your total budget. As experienced planners, we minimize surprises through rigorous planning — but it is wise to anticipate some flexibility for last-minute additions or changes.
Venues & Vendors
Which venues do you work with in Marrakech?
We collaborate with Marrakech's most exceptional properties, including Royal Mansour, Selman Marrakech, La Mamounia, Ksar Char-Bagh, Oberoi, and Palais Ronsard. We also have access to private riads, palaces, and exclusive estates not available to the general public.
What is the difference between a riad and a palace for a wedding?
A riad is a traditional Moroccan house organized around a central courtyard, ideal for intimate weddings (up to 80–100 guests). A palace offers much larger spaces suited to celebrations of 200+ guests, with spectacular gardens. Both deliver incomparable Moroccan authenticity, but for very different atmospheres.
Do you select vendors on our behalf?
Yes. Our trusted vendor network — photographers, florists, caterers, musicians, decorators — has been carefully built and curated over many years. We provide a shortlist tailored to your style and budget, and handle all negotiations and contracts on your behalf.
Logistics & Formalities
What is the best time of year to get married in Marrakech?
Peak season runs March–May and October–November, with ideal temperatures (20–28°C) and beautiful light. Summer (June–August) is very hot, with temperatures exceeding 40°C. December–February offers mild weather, perfect for indoor weddings or heated tent celebrations.
Do I need a visa to get married in Morocco?
French, European, and many other nationals do not need a visa to enter Morocco for stays under 90 days. For legal marriage, it is generally simplest to marry civilly in your home country and hold the celebration in Morocco. We guide you through the appropriate formalities for your situation.
Do you handle guest transportation and accommodation?
Yes, we coordinate transfers to and from Marrakech Menara Airport, as well as accommodation recommendations for your guests across different price ranges. We negotiate group rates with partner hotels.
