How Much Does a Wedding in Marrakech Cost?

One of the first questions I hear from couples is: 'How much should we budget for a wedding in Marrakech?' The answer depends on your style, guest count, and venue choice. Here's a comprehensive breakdown based on my experience planning over 120 weddings.

Overall Budget Range

The minimum budget for a quality wedding in Marrakech starts at €15,000-20,000 for a small, intimate celebration. The average wedding budget I work with is around €35,000, which covers a beautiful venue, excellent catering, and professional vendors.

Venue Costs

Venues in Marrakech vary enormously in price depending on the type. Riads start from around €3,000, private villas from €7,500, desert venues from €15,000, luxury hotels from €30,000, and palaces can reach €75,000 or more. The venue typically accounts for 25-40% of your total budget.

Catering

Expect to pay between €60-80 per person for quality catering. This includes a cocktail reception, main course, dessert, and beverages. For a wedding of 100 guests, budget approximately €6,000-8,000 for food and drinks.

Photography & Videography

Professional wedding photography in Marrakech ranges from €2,000 to €3,000 for a full-day package. Videography is typically an additional €1,500-2,500. Many couples invest in both to capture the magic of their day.

Florals & Décor

Floral arrangements and décor average around €4,500 for a standard setup. This can go much higher for elaborate installations. Marrakech's local flowers are beautiful and affordable, which helps keep costs reasonable compared to European cities.

Music & Entertainment

A DJ costs around €600 for the evening. Live bands range from €1,500-3,000. Many couples also include traditional Moroccan musicians for the cocktail hour, adding authentic local flavor.
